70 per cent of brands shun consumers on social media

Seven out of ten global brands are failing to engage with consumers on their social media platforms, say researchers, with one quarter of all companies closing their wall on Facebook to prevent customers from making comments or asking questions about their products.
This comes despite evidence that platforms such as Twitter and Facebook offer quick ways to win new customers and keep existing consumers engaged.
